Emily's last name is pronounced "day-shuh-nell", with the stress on the first syllable. Emily's best friend is Michaela Conlin who plays Angela Montenegro on Bones. Her paternal grandfather was French and the rest of her ancestry is Irish. Emily used to practice Karate in college and was a member of the Karate team. Emily's grandparents live in Portland, Oregon.
